Who we are

This website is run by FBS Engineering North West Service Ltd (company number 14762854), registered office 3 Clark Street, Poulton Industrial Estate, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, FY6 8JW. We are the controller of the personal details you send us. You can contact us about your data at info@fbs-engineering.co.uk or on 01253 543147.

What we collect, and why

When you use our enquiry form we receive what you type in and anything you attach:

• your name, email address, and your phone number and company if you give them
• details of the job, where it is, and any drawings or photos you attach

We use these only to reply to you, price the work and, if you go ahead, to carry it out. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our work.

We also send you one automatic email confirming we have your enquiry. We do not send marketing emails, and we never sell or share your details for anyone else to market to you.

Where your details go

The website does not keep a database of enquiries. When you press send, your enquiry and files are emailed straight to us. To do that we use a small number of trusted services:

• Ionos, our email provider, delivers the enquiry email to us and the confirmation email to you.
• Vercel hosts the website. Like any web host it keeps short-lived technical logs, which include IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks the form is being sent by a person and not a spam robot.
• Sentry tells us when part of the site breaks. It is set up not to record what you type into the form.
• Vercel Web Analytics counts visits to each page, and which contact buttons are pressed, without cookies and without identifying you.
• Google Analytics (run by Google), only if you accept it on the cookie banner, shows us which pages are read and how many enquiries are sent. It never receives your name, contact details, files or message. See our cookie policy.
• WhatsApp (run by Meta) carries any message you choose to send us there. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to those messages.

Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your details leave the UK they are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an equivalent safeguard that each provider offers.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept in our email for as long as we need them to answer you. If you become a customer, we keep job and invoice records for six years because the law requires it. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within two years.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. You can also object to how we use them. Email info@fbs-engineering.co.uk and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This site does not set any advertising cookies. Google Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them on the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that at any time. See our cookie policy for the detail.
